Arts & Craft Workshops
Creativity, Cultural Engagement, and Community Wellbeing Through the Arts
ALT Alliance partnered with multiple New York Public Library branches to deliver bilingual arts and crafts workshops for children and families. Through creative activities, cultural programming, and community engagement, the initiative promoted self-expression, wellbeing, and accessible arts education across diverse neighborhoods.

Program Overview
Between June 2024 and August 2025, ALT Alliance hosted a series of bilingual arts and crafts workshops across NYPL branches, including Riverside, Morris Park, and Jerome Park. The program welcomed participants of all ages and backgrounds, creating opportunities for creativity, cultural learning, and community connection.

Workshop Experience
Workshops explored themes such as self-expression, Lunar New Year traditions, Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations, and gratitude. Participants experimented with collage, journaling, storytelling, and mindfulness activities designed to encourage creativity, emotional awareness, and personal growth.

Attendance Trends

Attendance remained consistently high throughout the series, with every workshop attracting participants and several sessions reaching peak attendance levels. These results suggest strong community demand for accessible arts-based programming.
Volunteer Engagement
A team of eleven volunteers contributed their expertise in art, education, design, therapy, and community engagement. Volunteers supported workshop facilitation, guided creative activities, and helped foster welcoming and inclusive learning environments.
