A Sing for Hope Pop-Up Piano Concert at Moynihan Train Hall
On September 26, 2026, ALT Alliance partnered with Sing for Hope to bring a free, one-hour pop-up piano concert to Moynihan Train Hall, one of New York City's busiest transit hubs. For one afternoon, a place people usually rush through became a place to pause and listen.

A PIANO FOR EVERYONE
The Sing for Hope Pianos
Sing for Hope places artist-painted pianos in public spaces across New York, turning everyday places into stages that belong to everyone. As Sing for Hope celebrates 25 years of bringing the arts to the public, we were honored to share one of these pianos with our community.

MEET THE PIANIST
Ice Wang
Ice Wang is a New York–based pianist recognized for her dynamic performances and engagement with both traditional and contemporary repertoire. A graduate of the Mannes School of Music, where she studied piano with Ursula Oppens, Wang holds a Master of Music degree and a Professional Studies Diploma. Her performance experience includes solo and collaborative performances, as well as work with contemporary composers, through which she continues to explore new possibilities for the piano.
At Moynihan Train Hall, she brought her music out of the concert hall and into one of New York's busiest public spaces.

MUSIC WHERE PEOPLE ARE
A Stage in the Middle of the Day
Commuters slowed down. Travelers sat on the floor beside their luggage. Some stopped for a minute, others stayed for the whole program.
Nobody bought a ticket or planned to be there. The music simply met people where they were.

ONE KEY AT A TIME
Music as Care
At ALT Alliance, we believe the arts are more than entertainment. They are a way to care for the well-being of our communities.
A few moments of live music in a crowded station can offer calm, connection, and a quiet sense of being cared for, even among strangers.

GIVING BACK
Music That Gives Back
The concert also supported Sing for Hope's mission, with donations collected on site to help keep music free and accessible in public spaces across the city.
Thank you to Sing for Hope and Moynihan Train Hall for making this afternoon possible, and to everyone who stopped to listen.

Relive the Concert
Take a moment to pause with us and experience the afternoon again.
