Between Us, A Resonance
Cultural Memory, Community, and Belonging at The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts
A Space for Shared Stories
Presented by The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts (EFA) in partnership with ALT Alliance, Between Us, A Resonance brought together artists Ziyi Zhang, Wei-chen Lou, and Yiting Liu in an exhibition exploring cultural memory, personal identity, and belonging. Through interdisciplinary practices and community-centered engagement, the exhibition examined how individual experiences become part of a larger collective narrative.
From Residency to Exhibition
Developed through an artist residency at EFA, the project encouraged artists to explore intimate stories alongside broader social conversations. During the residency, ALT Alliance hosted an Open Studio that invited curators, critics, and members of the public into the creative process, creating opportunities for dialogue, feedback, and exchange.
Art Through Participation
What distinguished Between Us, A Resonance was its emphasis on participation. Throughout the residency, artists engaged with community members through workshops, conversations, and story-sharing sessions. These encounters became part of the final exhibition itself, transforming the gallery into a space for reflection, connection, and collective memory.
